The organizing committee which is in charge of the annual preparation of the action made such a decision on April 7. They also appointed the applicants for the Chernobyl way 2008 which is planned to be held on April 26 in Minsk.

8 people signed the application which is to be sent to the Minsk City Executive Committee.

Among those people there is one of the leaders of Belarusian Greens Oleg Novikov. The participants of the Chernobyl way are going to protest against the building of nuclear power plants in Belarus. The decision of that building was made without wide spread public discussion and control. Another point is the abolition of social guarantees for people affected by the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plants.
