Greens demand a word for the public in the course of plannin

On January 15, at the meeting of Security Council led by Alexander Lukashenko the last decision of the building of a nuclear power plant in Belarus was passed. In its declaration Green party demands the involvement of the public in taking decisions about the belarussian nuclear power plant building. As consistent with Orhussk Convention Belarussian Green party also requests for examination and referendum about the reasonability of the building a nuclear power plant in Belarus.


Belarussian Green party made a protest against the plans of building a new nuclear power plant in the republic. All arguments for its necessity in the republic suffered from Chernobyl disaster sound quite weak because of the threat which "peace" atom presents for today and future generations", the declaration says.
